Transition Gap Analysis (#342) — P2 #10.

Current codebase

  • Playwright E2E: e2e/anvil-arena-05-play-feel.spec.ts, e2e/anvil-indexer-first.spec.ts with YIELDOMEGA_E2E_INDEXER=1 bash scripts/e2e-anvil.sh.
  • No E2E for timer zero → roll → epoch increment, leaderboard refresh, or claim button state.
  • Verify scripts cover subsets (verify-podium-live-anvil.sh, verify-podium-timers-anvil.sh) but not full browser transition.

Why needed

Runtime transition wiring is untested across indexer + frontend; poll-lag and settling UX regressions would not be caught by unit tests alone.

Constraints / guardrails

  • Use YIELDOMEGA_E2E_INDEXER=1 and Anvil --code-size-limit 524288 per docs/testing/e2e-anvil.md.
  • 5 Playwright workers per project convention.
  • Stable data-testid selectors; depend on sibling UX issue for settling states.
  • Mock wallet OK for scripted roll; Rabby only if signing required.

Recommended direction

  2. Playwright: assert epoch increment in UI, leaderboard row change, claim-ready state when applicable.
  3. Add invariant INV-FRONTEND-342-TRANSITION-E2E or extend #340 family.
  4. Document run command in e2e-anvil.md.

Acceptance criteria

  • New E2E spec passes with YIELDOMEGA_E2E_INDEXER=1.
  • Covers epoch roll visibility (epoch number or settling state).
  • CI/docs reference command.
  • Uses 5 workers: npm run test:e2e -- --workers=5.
