LocalTerra Classic

A ready-to-use Terra Classic blockchain for local development and testing.

Why This Exists

The official classic-terra/localterra repository doesn't publish pre-built Docker images, making local development difficult. This project provides:

• Pre-built Docker images on Docker Hub
• Fast block times (200ms instead of 5s)
• Pre-funded test accounts with LUNC, USTC, and other tokens
• All APIs enabled (RPC, LCD, gRPC)
• CosmWasm support for smart contract development (Cosmos SDK 0.53 / core v4.x)

Quick Start

Using GitHub Container Registry (Recommended)

# Use the current mainnet version (recommended)
docker run -p 26657:26657 -p 1317:1317 -p 9090:9090 ghcr.io/plasticdigits/localterra-cl8y:latest

# Or pin to a specific Terra Classic core version
docker run -p 26657:26657 -p 1317:1317 -p 9090:9090 ghcr.io/plasticdigits/localterra-cl8y:v4.0.1

Using Docker Compose

Store a Contract

Image Versioning

Images are tagged to match Terra Classic core releases:

Tag	Description
latest	Current mainnet version (auto-detected from live RPC)
v4.0.1	Pinned to Terra Classic core v4.0.1 (Cosmos SDK 0.53)
v4.0.0, v3.6.2, v3.6.1, ...	All stable releases available

The latest tag always points to the version running on Terra Classic mainnet (columbus-5), never to release candidates. This is auto-detected by querying public RPC endpoints.

Building a Specific Version

# Build with a specific Terra Classic core version
docker build --build-arg TERRA_VERSION=v4.0.1 -t localterra-cl8y:v4.0.1 .

CosmWasm Version

This image uses wasmd 0.61.x with wasmvm v3, matching Terra Classic mainnet (core v4.0.1 / Cosmos SDK 0.53).
